About Youth4Devlopment (Y4D)
YOUTH 4 Development (Y4D) is a youth-led organization based in Machakos; Kenya registered under KDO/CBO/019/142. Y4D was founded with the aim to, inspire and equip marginalised children, youth, women and persons with disabilities with the necessary entrepreneurial and life Skills for self-sustainability and independence. Y4D transforms individuals, families, and communities so they can thrive and prosper in the society. Y4D works to eradicate poverty and enact social change through active participation and engagement of these groups in the implementation of cutting-edge youth development programs in:

Programs
Our programs focus on education, health, environment, agriculture, capacity building, sports, food security and entrepreneurship.
Through the implementation of cutting-edge youth development programs, Y4D trains young people to become effective leaders of tomorrow and agents of social change. Our call to action is inspired by the following activities to achieve our objectives.
early childhood education program
Youth4Development about making sure that all children including disabled have access to essential care and promote better education and development outcomes for the young people.
Women & Youth Empowerment economic development programs
Youth4Development promotes capacity building activities through vocational training and resource centres to vulnerable youths with income generation activities such as dress-making, hair-dressing, beads-making and table-banking project etc.
Ensuring food security & sustainable livelihoods
Youth4Development works to improve food security and ensure sustainable livelihoods programs using integrated interventions focused on sustainable agricultural projects such as poultry, fish, rabbits and cattle farming.
Combating climate change
Through environmental education programs with youth groups such as tree planting projects; advocating for SMART agricultural practices in reducing the negative effects of global warming through vegetables and fruits farming.
Children, Gender, & HIV/AIDS Program
Youth4Development has been involved in awareness creation, sensitization, and behavioral change advocacy focusing on vulnerable groups such as women, children and youth.

Youth4Development groups involves the youth in extracurricular activities such as Sports, cultural festivals, Camps, Music and Drama among others.
Our Team
Y4D is run by young people for young people by means of a democratic structure and our members are mainly working on a voluntary base. The limit age to participate in our activities is 34 years but the majority of participants are under the age of 25.
It is young people who decide about activities of the organisation, define the strategies and implement the action plans, run the organization and ultimately evaluate it. It is important to note that most young people in Y4D are actively involved in other aspects of civil society, frequently establishing links between youth-led organizations at the local, regional and national level, extending the participation in the international organisations to the local dimension.
